Flash memory is part of many electronic devices today. Modern memory cards – SD and microSD – are almost always built with NAND flash technology.
SD cards are mostly used for photos and video in digital cameras, while microSD and SDHC cards are typically found in smartphones, action cams, drones and handheld game consoles. With adapters, the cards can also end up in many other devices.
For SD card data recovery we use specialised software and hardware that allow us to work precisely and without changing the original card. A careful, step-by-step approach keeps the risk of further damage to a minimum.
X Datenrettung specialises in data recovery from SD and microSD memory cards. Our experienced engineers look for the most effective way to get back the photos, videos and files that matter to you.
Data recovery process
Be vigilant and do not attempt to salvage the data on the device yourself. This can make recovery impossible.
Data recovery from storage media from all manufacturers
All orders are processed exclusively in our Berlin laboratory. The data recovery from mechanically defective hard drives takes place within a dust-free environment of our clean room workbench of clean room class 100.
Frequently asked questions about SD card data recovery
Yes, as long as the memory itself is not physically broken. Memory cards have special internal contacts, hidden under a coating, that allow direct access to the memory in the laboratory.
The diagnosis is free of charge. A standard recovery costs 357–535.50 euros, a special recovery (for example mechanical damage that needs spare parts) 476–897 euros plus any spare parts. If no data can be recovered, you pay nothing for the recovery. Details: Prices.
Yes. Both our office and our laboratory are in Berlin (Danziger Str. 78A, 10405 Berlin). All work is carried out in our own laboratory in Berlin. Your storage device is not sent anywhere else or handed over to other service providers.
In most cases, yes – as long as the data has not been overwritten. Stop using the card immediately. Deleted files are usually recovered by searching the raw data; they are then sorted using file headers and metadata, although original file names are often lost.
Yes. A microSD card is an “all-in-one” component in which memory and controller sit in a single chip. Recovery is usually done through special contacts that are not accessible to the user.
